Gently water the soil and dig a hole deep enough to hold the root ball of your plant. Turn the pot containing your plant upside down, and support the weight of the plant as you pop it out of the container. If the roots are tightly bound together, gently pull them apart with your hands to encourage growth. Place the plant in the hole, backfill the hole with soil, and water in the plant until the soil is moist but not flooded.Squeeze the container sides if you’re having a tough time getting the plant out. Look for seeds labeled “feminized” which are better for first-time growers.
